Multi functional basement in Seattle

Problem:

Unfinished basement in the most unfinished state. Furnace located in center of space dissecting the space.

Wishlist:

A space that is open, family friendly, and that can fulfill several purposes such as: watching tv, entertaining during sports events, drink station, game/puzzle area, toy storage, work station. Add bathroom.

My solution:

Create a multi-functional space.

First, I measured the raw space to come up with a space plan that made sense with the location of the homes' existing sewer and water locations. Once that was established, I developed the space to include the clients' wishlist items, paying close attention to incorporate all their needs now and in the future. Scroll down to see how.

My solution:

I designed the cabinetry to accommodate an 85" TV with surround sound and a comfy sectional to make family movie night or game day all the more enjoyable.

No need to go upstairs for a drink or snack, the bar area has a sink, refrigerator and ice machine.

On the other end of the room, is a work station and more cabinetry for games and toys to be played on the game table.

A new bathroom completes the space and gives you no reason to leave it.
